This isn't your typical vintage Northstar. In 2021, the team at Truck Camper Garage tore it down to the bones — verified all framing, installed all-new siding, and resealed it throughout. Since then, it's logged serious miles: Alaska to Baja and plenty in between. This rig has been lived in and put to real use, and it shows in the best way possible.
Condition is good with some honest wear worth noting. The canvas corners have small holes from years of raising and lowering — they don't leak, but they're there. The front of the camper where it meets the truck bed has some surface scratches, typical of a rig that's actually been used. Everything structural is solid and all systems are running well. It's the kind of camper that's already been broken in for you.
Inside, the retro-styled cabin is one of the most thoughtfully packed 8-foot campers we've seen. Storage is genuinely exceptional for the size — cabinetry throughout, plus underbed storage that has to be seen to be appreciated (see photos). The large lagoon table and lounge give you a real place to decompress after a long day on the trail, and blackout coverings on the canvas keep things dark when you need it.
The off-grid system is serious: 580 watts of solar feeding a 280Ah Dakota Lithium battery, backed by a 1200-watt inverter and a new 12V fridge. With 40 gallons of fresh water on board and a Joolca hot water shower setup — complete with dedicated shower awning, wet room, and dry room — you can run comfortably for days without hookups or a campground.
A 4-burner propane stove handles camp cooking, and a 4-gallon Rotopax keeps a fuel reserve at the ready. An electric lock secures the camper when you're out exploring. The roof fan provides ventilation, and the camper is prepped to fit a composting toilet (available through Truck Camper Garage).
